My Favorite Song of the Week Lyrics

Pompeii

I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show

And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settles around us

And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
If you close your eyes

Oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?
Oh where do we begin?
The rubble or our sins?

And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Great clouds roll over the hills
Bringing darkness from above

But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You’ve been here before?

How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?

Rain

A life without lemons lacks lemonade. A world without rain lacks rainbows. A day without sad could never have glad. And without glad, what we’d do, no one knows. That’s why we allow the rain to rain as it pleases, because the rain brings rainbows, right after it leaves us.

Expository Writing

Topic: explain why gossiping is wrong

Would you want people to talk about you behind your back? If you have to whisper – so no one can hear – is it worth saying? Do you think its ok to tell someone else’s secrets – when you promised you wouldn’t – because you know your friend will think its funny?Gossiping and bulling are both the same thing: mean, upsetting, and for no reason.
Ever heard the saying “You can’t judge a book by its cover,”? Well gossiping is judging someone from what hear from someone else, instead of from that persons actions. I once knew a girl that spread a rumor about one of my friends. All of a sudden – without doing anything wrong – all her friends didn’t like her anymore. No one even bothered to ask if it was true. That hardly seems fair. And is it really worth it?
Furthermore gossiping is a way to make someone feel better about themselves by tearing someone else down. Really all it does is tear you down. When you jump – and you reach that tippy top point – you feel amazing, but then you start to fall. And the feeling of flying just whisks away. Well that’s a lot like gossiping…your lifted up by pride…and then pulled right back down. Is it really worth it?
It’s all up to you. Just make sure you would be ok if someone told your secrets. Gossiping may make you feel cool at the time, but the person you’re talking about doesn’t think its cool. And that’s why gossiping is wrong.
