Love

Love is a spark that lives inside you. The more you try to stop it the more it grows. When you try to dim it’s light it burns brighter than before. The more you resist its warmth the hotter it becomes. Love, love deceives you. It blinds from the truth. If you try to shut it out, You try to cool it down, then it only grows brighter and burns hotter like the sun.

But love is also beauty. Love is forgiving and kind. Love is pure happiness that never leaves your side. Love is like the sun shine. Warm and bright. Love wraps you in its arms and holds you nice and tight. And though love can bring sadness and hardship and tears. Love also brings you laughter. To you and to your peers.

A Poem I Love

I have always thought of Robert Frost as an amazing poet and as a writer I find his work inspirational. Even as a kid his work left me in awe. At my house, while flipping through a book of his poems, I found one in particular that caught my eye. I wanted to share this writer with you, because of the connection his writing has to me and my child hood. But I wanted to share this particular poem with you, because I feel like I can relate my feelings to it.

Fire and Ice
by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Media and Memory

When I was little I had a horse back riding accident. My family and friends brought me balloons, flowers, and toys. But my favorite gift was a soft, fluffy bear. The minute I saw him my heart stopped, and his big brown eyes engulfed me. I knew his name must be Stuffy (don’t judge me I was six). When I played with him I could be anything: a pirate, a queen, or Alice in Wonderland. That bear has been my best friend since that day forward. He helped me through hard choices, bad days, and lifted me up when I fell down.
